Job Description
Currently seeking an experienced Expeditor who will assist in the efficient tracking and reporting of procurement package vendor deliverables for a major mining infrastructure project on an 6 month contract.
In this role you will coordinate the flow of materials from vendors and contractors, ensuring the right materials arrive at various sites as per the project schedule.
Your duties will consist of:
• Track vendor progress against approved schedule/ programme from package award through to delivery.
• Monitor documentation and hold vendors to account for on time performance of all activities in a programme, including delivery of vendor data and documentation, procurement of materials, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, through to delivery.
• Expedite specialised mechanical and electrical equipment packages between vendors and contractors to ensure timely arrival of goods for transport to fabrication and works contractors;
• Expedite vendor (supplier) document requirements (SDR) to support the ongoing engineering, fabrication and construction works on the project;
• Manage and report vendor manufacturing discrepancies and delays and escalating issues as necessary;
• Review and report on vendor performance for specialised mechanical and electrical equipment packages and identify discrepancies and/or delays and escalating issues as necessary;
• Ensure vendor’s timely submission of manufacturing and program reports to allow the project to incorporate into its integrated schedule;
• Information coordination between project functions including Package Owner, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Engineering Service Provider (ESP) to manage project documentation.
• Accurate identification of witness and hold points, and accountable for ensuring that the company’s quality assurance and quality control representatives are fully informed of upcoming activities and can accurately plan attendances accordingly
• General adhoc procurement administrative duties to support the team
• Regular attendance at vendor sites as required, including at remote locations (significant business travel may be required)
To be successful you will need the following qualifications and experience:
• Qualifications in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Background in major project procurement, contracts and document management roles
• Expediting and / or materials management and logistics and / or supplier quality surveillance experience
• Recent CAPEX experience in mining, infrastructure, oil and gas sectors, in particular within project execution.
• Knowledge of Aconex is a preference
