The Strengthening Providers Branch is seeking dynamic candidates to assist in the design and implementation of effective aged care regulatory policy to improve the quality, safety and integrity of the aged care system. The Director will lead reforms that benefit older Australians who access aged care services. The work of the Branch is varied, fast-paced and focused on delivering real-world outcomes by implementing recommendations of the Royal Commission on quality, safety, transparency and accountability and governance.
The successful candidate will lead the development of policy advice to Government, provide advice on legislative amendments, support communication and stakeholder engagement activities and contribute to the delivery of high priority government commitments. They will also build and leverage collaborative relationships across the Ageing and Aged Care Group, Quality Assurance Division, Regulatory bodies, Aged Care peak bodies, and other key stakeholder groups to develop opportunities for regulatory alignment across the national care and support sector.
A Merit list will be created to fill these roles and will be considered for future roles in the Division.
Position Duties:

Provide strategic advice and analysis on the design, development and implementation of effective regulatory/legal policy and reform in support of the agency's objectives.
Lead and manage a team, providing strategic direction and ensuring the achievement of quality outcomes. Build capability in the team through coaching, performance management and identifying training needs.
Actively develop and manage key strategic relationships across the department and with a broad range of stakeholders, promoting the agency's business objectives and communicating the strategic direction and vision of the agency.
Represent and negotiate on behalf of the branch and agency to advance the agency's interests in cross-agency, inter-jurisdictional and other forums.
