The Executive Assistant (EA) to Director General Operational Health (DGOH) or Assistant Secretary Health Policy Protection and Policy (ASHPP) is accountable under limited direction for the day-to-day administrative support of a 1* Military Officer or SES Band 1.
The EA will work closely with the Staff Officer to DGOH or ASHPP as part of a small team focused on the support to DGOH/ASHPP in the fulfillment of Branch Objectives.
The EA will form a part of the wider EA network within the Command and will be responsible for cross-command appointments as and when required.
The EA will be accountable for organizing DGOH's/ASHPP's workflow primarily around the management of the DGOH/ASHPP personal calendar and diary, seeking guidance from either DGOH/ASHPP when required.
The EA will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the administration function (broadly) and orders, instructions, and directives of Joint Health Command (JHC).
The EA will be required to share information across the Branch, periodically monitor work practices (such as the JHC task tracking system), identify work priorities for DGOH/ASHPP, and develop local procedures for such things as the ordering of office stationery, diaries, and travel management.
The EA will be required to communicate with, respond to, and provide advice to a range of Branch stakeholders on moderately complex operational, policy, and administrative issues to achieve Branch and Command outcomes.
About our Team Operational Health Branch is responsible for the support to the Services for deployable health capability and Garrison Health Operations for on-base health services. The Branch encompasses a diverse range of strategic workforce, materiel, and future concepts functions.
Health Protection and Policy Branch is responsible for health protection, research, prevention, and health promotion programs, policy, and senior technical/medical advice.
Both Branches support Commander Joint Health's Strategic Mission in delivering healthcare and support for health protection for the ADF.
Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be able to support either the 1* Officer or SES Band 1 in a team-based, busy, and dynamic office environment. The candidate will be capable of forming great relationships with Branch staff and the wider supporting Joint Health Command Executive Assistant Team. The candidate will be capable of managing multiple competing tasks and functions in support of the 1* Officer or SES Band 1.
