Your role:Reporting to the Executive Director, the Estimating Manager will assume a hands-on position pricing a range of civil construction infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience across bulk earthworks and concrete works projects.
The successful candidate will have leadership capability and be empowered to build and manage a high performing team, as well as the technical expertise to provide first class estimation and contract management capabilities.
Your responsibilities:Produce detailed cost estimatesWorking and leading the tenders' team to build successful tender submissionsProvide tender construction schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft ProjectCreate Project Execution methodologies that align with the cost estimate and construction scheduleOverseeing the pre-contracts gate process end to endBuild, mentor and lead the tenders teamCompleting material take offsPrepare and price estimates in their entirety and developing detailed project budgetsPeer reviewing estimates to ensure accuracyPreparing risk and opportunity analysis prior to tenderingPreparing tender assumptions, clarifications, and queriesAssist with negotiating contracts and agreementsWork in collaboration with operational subject matter experts to ensure tenders manage and consider risks appropriatelyBuild and maintain strong working relationships with all key stakeholdersEfficiently performing all stages of an estimate including methodology, estimate organisation, take-off, pricing, review, and closeoutFacilitate project handover including cost coding and variation pricingAbout you:Demonstrated experience in a similar Senior Estimating role within the Civil Construction industry with exposure to Civil tenders including Earthworks/ Concrete/NPI/ Roadworks/DrainageFormal tertiary educations in QS, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Contracts Management or similar - DesirableA minimum of 10 years estimating experienceUnderstanding of the National Code of Practice, procurement and construction methodologyExperience with tenders on large scale projects valuing from $10-100MExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead a high functioning teamStrong attention to detail and accuracyExpert Estimating software experience - Primavera C P6 and MS ProjectWhat we offer:Whittens are committed to investing in our people, offering learning and development opportunities to build on the skills and experience you bring.
