About the RoleThe M80 Ring Road Alliance, comprising MACA, Acciona, and AECOM, is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to support the design and construction of the M80 Ring Road Completion Project. This position will be based at the project site in the Watsonia and Bundoora area, working closely with the project construction team to manage and communicate environmental requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement environmental policy, procedures, and legislative requirements to ensure compliance with project approvals, management plans, and procedures.Assist with the implementation of internal and external audits, focusing on improvement opportunities and non-conformances.Develop and maintain key relationships with other project functions to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Conduct regular environmental and sustainability inspections, contributing to client and stakeholder inspections and audits.Monitor environmental consultants during site works, including contaminated land, ecologists, and fauna handlers.Collect and maintain environmental reports and monitoring data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.Develop and deliver environmental training, toolboxes, and inductions to ensure a high level of environmental awareness and compliance.Plan for upcoming night works, including noise modeling and analysis of noise monitoring results.Investigate and monitor community environmental complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.Assist with managing compliance with Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs).RequirementsWe are seeking a candidate with a tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or an equivalent field. The ideal candidate will have experience working on-site in support of a major infrastructure project, with a working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and environmental legislation, regulations, and best practice publications.
