The Opportunity With ongoing success and growth across Australia, we're thrilled to welcome a motivated Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our Sydney-based contaminated land management team! In this role, you'll assist with project scoping, proposal writing, and manage fieldwork preparation for contaminated land projects. You'll also prepare proposals and reports, provide guidance on moderately complex projects, and develop scopes for both field and office tasks. Working under minimal supervision from your Manager or Project Manager, you'll follow established guidelines and protocols for all fieldwork assignments. This role offers the opportunity to use and expand your technical skills across diverse Contaminated Land Management (CLM) projects for private and government clients.
Key Responsibilities: Scoping projects, assist with the development of proposals, and preparing for fieldwork.Executing on-ground fieldwork at contaminated sites and for geotechnical investigations, including soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater sampling, as well as supervising contractors.Adhering to and promoting our safety values, systems, and procedures in all activities.Evaluating and interpreting field and analytical data and preparing detailed scientific and technical reports.Collaborating with a broad team to solve complex environmental and geotechnical challenges while providing guidance and supervision to entry-level professionals as needed.About you We are seeking talented and curious scientists/engineers who want to advance their career with a global environmental consultancy. You will bring:
A degree in environmental science, geology or environmental engineering.Minimum 2-3 years of related professional experience in Contaminated Land investigations.A passion for field-based project work including soil and groundwater sampling, contractor supervision, drilling, compaction testing, slope stability assessment, contractor supervision and safety management.An ability to undertake soil and rock logging in site investigation projects.Effective written and spoken communication skills and the aptitude to confidently liaise with project teams, subcontractors and clients.Safety leadership in the field and commitment to adopting behavioural based safety programs.The drive and commitment to succeed and to be a strong contributor to the growth and success of Kleinfelder in Australia.A full driver's license.Ability and willingness to travel (Local and Interstate) if required.Who is Kleinfelder?
