Description
We are currently seeking an Intermediate to Senior Environmental Scientist (Approvals) to join our NSW Environment team.
You will benefit from being part of a national ecology and environmental services team that has industry experts across Approvals, Ecology, Sustainability, Coastal and Acoustics and a range of exciting projects within New South Wales and across the Asia Pacific Region.
The role is based in our Sydney office, and we have embraced flexible working which is tailored to your individual circumstance, including multiple office locations, work from home, staggered start and finish times as well as additional Purchased Leave options.

Day to day tasks would involve:
Lead and prepare environmental approvals documentation, environmental impact assessments and environmental management plans, using knowledge of NSW and Federal environmental legislation, current industry standards, and approval processes.
Provision of specific technical input into studies and major projects as appropriate.
Lead and prepare technical written reports to support project outcomes.
Client and regulator liaison to achieve project objectives.
Draw on existing client relationships and build new client relationships to further develop our Queensland business.
Lead and prepare proposal documentation.
Ensure financial outcomes of assignments are achieved through effective project management.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary and cohesive team to successfully deliver environmental approvals services to our clients, across a wide range of sectors.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/ Environmental Planning / Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, particularly in the NSW and Federal regulatory environment.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of regulatory approvals documentation for a range of infrastructure projects.
Professional standards of technical report writing.
Flexibility and ability to prioritise work as required.
Ability to lead project teams.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Positive and proactive attitude.
