What This Role Offers The chance to develop key skills in the mining sector with a broad scope covering all environmental areas.Exposure to all operational teams, from mining production to processing.A budget for the formal training and development of staff.About the Opportunity An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Officer to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia.
In this role, you will report to the Senior Environmental Advisor and work on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on supporting the implementation and maintenance of the environmental management system, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements.

Your primary responsibilities will include: Coordinating and managing environmental monitoring, ensuring compliance with site procedures, environmental licences, and relevant regulations.Maintaining and analysing environmental data, providing insights, and reporting trends to support continuous improvement.Conducting environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts.Developing and implementing environmental management plans, procedures, and training materials to promote environmental responsibility.Leading and participating in environmental initiatives, supporting the company's sustainability goals and compliance with environmental standards.Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environment, and community practices, promoting a strong safety culture, and effective environmental processes.About You Our ideal candidate will have either some post-study environmental experience or experience gained during their studies through an internship or vacation program.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline.Exposure to environmental impact assessments and modern environmental management techniques.Experience with tasks such as environmental monitoring, data entry and management, and the coordination of environmental projects.Current C class driver's licence (manual).About 29Metals and Golden Grove 29Metals is an ASX-listed mining company that produces copper and other base and precious metals critical to the global energy transition.
