The Location

The Role
As an Environmental Advisor, you will implement the assurance framework to ensure that obligations under the relevant deeds, Planning Approvals and any other statutory obligations are managed and delivered.
Responsibilities include: Collaborating with the integrated project team to conduct regular environmental site assurance inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant risk assessments and execution documentation. Partnering with construction teams and contractors to establish site incident reporting and notification processes, both internally and externally as needed. Managing a system for tracking and resolving all site observations or improvement suggestions within agreed timeframes. Supporting the implementation of internal audit programs. Reviewing internal correspondence and compliance documents from the contractor, assisting the team in drafting timely responses to progress work activities. Helping implement monitoring programs (e.g., Biodiversity Monitoring Program) retained by Snowy Hydro, ensuring effective communication and internal checks for safe and efficient completion. Presenting high-priority environmental issues and opportunities to internal construction teams. Engaging with external regulators (e.g., NPWS) to maintain clear communication and address their concerns or complaints. Providing "owner's team" input on environmental decisions to ensure positive long-term outcomes for Snowy Hydro and its stakeholders. Monitoring, reviewing, and making recommendations on the contractor's Environmental Management Strategy and Sub Plans for compliance with relevant approvals. You'll Bring To The Team:
You'll bring to the team a Bachelor's degree with an Environmental Specialisation or a related discipline, along with experience in civil construction, utilities, or a related industry. Your expertise in planning and implementing site environmental audits will be invaluable, complemented by your proactive, goal-oriented approach and strong attention to detail. You effectively manage change in work tasks and environments, assist others in adapting, and demonstrate a knack for identifying issues, making timely decisions, and developing innovative solutions while fostering collaboration.
