About the Role We are looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our HSE team on our Collie Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS) Project located in Collie on a Full-Time project-based contract. This role is available on a 10/4 DIDO roster from Perth, with a local option available for those residing in the Collie region. Reporting to the Project Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring SCEE Electrical and its subcontractors adhere to environmental regulations, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to providing support and advice to the Project team during project planning phase, this role involves onsite auditing and monitoring of contractor compliance during construction.
Some of your key tasks will include:
Conduct regular environmental audits and compliance inspections at construction sites. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable approvals, regulations, and project requirements. Work closely with the Project leadership team and construction teams to identify and address environmental risks. Provide guidance and support on environmental best practices during construction planning and delivery phase. Conduct environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide environmental training and awareness programs for construction teams. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and industry best practices. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability. About You To be successful in this position, you will bring your extensive experience as an Environmental Advisor within the construction industry, as well as your well-developed stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or related field. Comprehensive understanding of Federal and State environmental regulations and permitting processes related to construction projects. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders and clients. High level of commitment to safety and SCEE Electrical values. Strong computer literacy. Valid driver's licence. White Card.
