• Full-time, 12-month contract opportunity based at RMIT City Campus
• Play a pivotal role in developing RMIT’s new Social Innovation Hub through partnership, collaboration and engagement projects and activities.
• Report to the Program Director, Social Innovation & Urban Strategy
• Remuneration at HEW Level 8 ($97,609 - $109,925), with competitive salary packaging + 17% superannuation
Position Summary
As an Engagement Manager (Social Innovation), you will be responsible for designing, delivering and managing activities and relationships to support RMIT’s newly opened social innovation hub in Pelham Street, Carlton. This role will give you an opportunity to use your knowledge of social and public policy innovation approaches, methods and partners to support the growth of RMIT’s expertise and reputation in the field. This position will see you working collaboratively in developing strong relationships using your high-level communication and engagement skills to promote, build connections across participants in the hub with RMIT and its partners.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Support the growth of the Social Innovation Hub and RMIT’s outstanding reputation and relationships in the social innovation field.
• Establish effective & efficient systems to track and report on engagement and participation in event and engagement activities other success indicators for the Hub.
• Collaborate and communicate with RMIT’S Policy and Impact Team and Program Director, Social Innovation and Urban Strategy to actively manage & develop shared uses of colocation and collaboration spaces across the CBD North area, develop engagement activities and strengthen organisational partnerships.
• Work collaboratively with the Director and Deputy Director of the Health Transformation Lab & Centre for Innovation Justice, other labs and partner organisations to support the development of the project work through labs and new initiatives.
• Provide support for users of the collaboration space i.e. catering, AV support, marketing and communication, working with RMIT’s wider communications, engagement and events teams
Skills and Experience Required
• Degree qualified and/or commensurate working experience
• Excellent relationship building and capacity to think and work innovatively, effectively and flexibly in a fluid multi-disciplinary team environment
• Strong planning, organisational, and management skills including project delivery and coordination for the effective execution of initiatives and projects with the aim of achieving desirable outcomes
• High-level written and oral communication skills, including the proven ability to network and liaise at all levels of a culturally diverse group of service users
• Strong working knowledge and experience of collaborative and co-working spaces
• In-depth understanding of social innovation on the wider social sector or social and public policy
• Computer savvy and competency in using varieties of information and communication technologies across different platforms, programs and systems will be highly regarded
