The Position

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Eligibility Officer. In this role you will be the first point of contact responsible for coordinating and obtaining information from key stakeholders to determine the acceptance or rejection of the claim in line with legislation. Other duties include:

Actively listen, show empathy and recognise the needs of the worker and employer

Consider Compliance, Medical Relationship, Employment Relationship and Exclusionary Provisions when reviewing liability;

Identifying any potential barriers and providing effective strategies for eligibility outcomes;

Communicating all decisions to the employer and the injured worker

Providing education to Workers, Employer and Treating Medical Practioner in respect to rights and responsibilities;

Delivering a high level of service to achieve a positive, safe and sustained return to work as early as possible in a high-pressure environment

Creating new claims at time of registration via phone and ensuring all relevant data and information is captured within the appropriate systems.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will need to have demonstrated ability to be resilient and to interact empathetically with people in vulnerable situations. You will also need to have demonstrated claims management experience and knowledge of relevant acts and legislative requirements and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of people who are impacted by a workplace injury. A proven track record in making sound decisions coupled with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence are essential to the success of this role.
