We are an electrical testing company based in Perth. Due to our company's growth, we are currently hiring two Electrical Testing and Commissioning Engineers to join us on a full-time basis. We are looking for candidates who have a good theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of HV/LV primary plant with in-depth knowledge of the secondary systems. Due to the nature of our projects, the candidates must be willing to travel and be away from home periodically.
Main Responsibilities Commissioning and testing of protection systems and schemes. Ability to test electro-mechanical, static and numerical relays is required. Commissioning and testing of substations secondary systems. Commissioning and testing of electrical system/equipment such as CT, VT, Isolator, Circuit Breaker, and Transformer. HV testing and condition monitoring (Partial Discharge and Tan Delta tests) on Power Cable, Rotating Machines, Transformers, and HV Switchboards. Protection and Control circuit scheme checking and troubleshooting. Preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans, and producing technical reports on completion of works. Provide technical support and training. Quality Assurance checks on documentation and reports. Practice a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external parties. Experience, Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering will be an advantage. Minimum 3+ years of experience in testing and commissioning, with 1 to 2 years of local experience. Must be proficient in reading schematic drawings and interpreting specifications. Understanding of the design and operation of protection relay technology, from application through to commissioning; knowledge in SCADA integration will be advantageous. Must have experience in testing various types of protection, for example, Generator, Transformer, Line, Busbar, Motor, and Feeder. Proven experience in using software tools of major brand relays. Familiarity with communication protocols used in SCADA and/or DCS configuration is beneficial. Experience with IEC61850 and GOOSE communications and messaging through IED Scout will be favorable. Must have experience in testing various types of electrical equipment (such as CT, VT, Isolator, Circuit Breaker, Transformer, etc). Experience in doing Partial Discharge and Tan Delta testing is desirable. Knowledge in power system studies is favorable. Able to work independently and capable of conducting and supervising site testing, investigations, and audits of installations. Proven experience in using the following equipment for relay testing and commissioning: Omicron CMC 256 and 356, Doble F6150, Ponovo, Megger SMRT410, and FREJA300. Proven experience in using the following equipment for HV testing and condition monitoring: Doble M4100, Omicron MPD800, Omicron CPC100. This is a full-time position.
