This means we value respect, safety, diversity, and inclusion.In the role of Electrical Mechanic, you will be required to install and maintain electrical infrastructure, traffic signals, street lighting, basic Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and data networks or any other associated electrical work in accordance with departmental standards, in a timely and cost-effective manner.Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Install and maintain traffic signals, street lighting and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in accordance with Departmental plans and specifications and ensure compliance with the Electrical Safety Act and AS/NZS Wiring Rules.
Carry out specified activities or tasks according to departmental plans, specifications and works orders, and in compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations.
Monitor safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and to ensure compliance with Electrical and Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
Liaise with other authorities where necessary for effective co-ordination of electrical construction and maintenance activities.
Perform work which while primarily involving the skills of the employee's trade is incidental or peripheral to the primary task and facilitates the completion of the whole task.
Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions:
Electrical Mechanic with valid Electrical Work Licence.
Current Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation - CPR and Perform Rescue From A Live LV Panel competencies.
Possession of White Card – General Safety Induction for Construction Industry.
The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical as part of our selection process for this role.
As part of the assessment process shortlisted applicants will participate in a skills assessment activity.
Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State.
Desirable Qualifications And Conditions:
Valid Queensland MR class drivers licence or equivalent.
ACMA Registered Open Cabler with endorsements Structured, Optical Fibre and Coaxial.
Elevating Work Platform Competency less than eleven metres.
Working in Proximity to Traffic Competency parts one and two.
Relevant industry experience.
