El 2 Senior Allied Health Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic allied health practitioner with an interest in veterans' health. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years' experience as a practicing practitioner as well as significant leadership and policy experience. You need to possess highly developed leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams that include diverse allied health disciplines, excellent organisational skills, ability to drive clinical governance, quality improvement and change management within the various teams, ability to manage competing priorities with fluctuating workloads, and demonstrated ability to support and operationalise strategic goals. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop, analyse, interpret and provide high level strategic advice on allied health principles and practices.
You will promote workplace practices consistent with the APS Values and have excellent interpersonal skills. Executive Level 2 employees are strong managers and create an environment that empowers their staff to give their best.
Duties 1. Lead high performing teams in allied health disciplines.
2. Drive clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
3. Manage competing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
4. Provide strategic advice on allied health principles and practices.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
