EL1 Assistant Director Cyber Security Assessment and AdviceThe Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Director – Cyber Security Assessment and Advice to join the Enterprise Technology Group.
This position can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is EL1 - $113,357 - $133,423 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
This position is ongoing or non-ongoing for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension.

In this role you'll be responsible for providing high quality and balanced cyber security advice to internal stakeholders and be a critical player in steering business technology solution alignment with internal and whole of government security/risk management policy.
You'll be instrumental in assessing and assisting in creating architectural designs and patterns to achieve consistency in the application of security models across the numerous concurrent streams of works.
You will develop security artefacts and contribute to maintaining currency and relevance of artefacts to ensure continuous integrity of security solutions.
As a trusted advisor, you will be pivotal in ensuring newly proposed components and technologies from third parties are safe and secure to use.
You will be responsible for advising areas where technology, privacy and security intersect and be a key proponent of embedding cyber hygienic practices within business process design through early engagement, training, and education.
The ART is currently midway through a Digital and Cloud transformation program to uplift its aging legacy infrastructure to a cloud first model.
As part of this, there is a multimillion dollar/year investment to build a new Case Management System secured by cutting edge security technology.
Reporting to the Director of Technology Security, Risk and Assurance (TRSA), you will be expected to engage with a variety of internal stakeholders including APS staff, Members, internal technology/project teams, and external suppliers.
You'll be involved in both business as usual and project work.
You'll provide a two-way conduit of information flow between the TSRA team, CMS program and other key delivery teams.
About you: To be successful in the role, you will:
Be enthusiastic about keeping abreast of cutting-edge technology and be able to contextually apply this knowledge when solutioning novel approaches to manage risk and enable secure business.
You'll be especially adept with Microsoft Cloud technologies such as Entra, D365, Defender Suite, Copilot, Fabric, and Azure services.Have the ability to conceptualise how traditional security control frameworks can be applied to the abstracted Cloud model and understand how contemporary architecture can mitigate risk while providing increased business flexibility.Have strong logical reasoning skills and be able to comprehend intricate technology risks and translate them into business language.
You'll have a thirst for continuous learning and be passionate about evangelising how security technology can be a business enabler.Be autonomous, inquisitive, and consistently challenge the status quo in pursuit of efficiency dividends whilst not compromising on security posture.Be well acquainted with Australian Government cyber security frameworks, privacy legislation, AI frameworks and risk management.Mandatory: Qualifications - Academic or Vocational certification in Technology and/or appropriate industry better practice standards and frameworks with specialisation in cyber security (e.g.
CISM, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, GIAC).Security Clearance - Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance.Vocational certification in modern software development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, XP, SAFe.Vocational certification in modern design and governance frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT or SABSA.How to apply: To be considered, all applications must be submitted online via the ART website.
