ASD is looking for Marketing and Communication Managers to fill current vacancies within the Ministerial, Media and Communications Branch.
The Ministerial, Media and Communications Branch provides high quality advice, briefings and awareness raising initiatives in order to support ASD’s mission within government and in the wider community. The branch is also responsible for the strategic management of ASD’s public profile, identifying and developing opportunities for public national cyber security leadership, and ensuring the quality and consistency of messaging in ASD’s media product.
The marketing, communications and events functions of the branch provides specialist expertise in areas such as campaign advertising, awareness raising activities, content development, digital platforms, social media, events and internal communications.
The primary aim is to ensure the work of ASD is well understood, recognised and respected across the broader community.
If successful, as an ASD Marketing and Communication Manager you will engage in the following tasks:
• proactively provide specialist advice to stakeholders on the design, development and implementation of a range of internal and external communication products and activities
• work collaboratively and negotiate effectively to influence stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver agreed business outcomes
• manage the accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees
• coordinate the development of digital platforms for online training, customer relationship management (CRM) and web content management (CMS)
• create content for a variety of communication channels such as social media, electronic direct mail (eDM), web and publications
• prepare reports and briefings for senior government officials
• conduct market research and analyse data from a variety of sources to apply evidence based decision making to branch activities
• coordinate events for a range of audiences including senior government officials, ministers and agency partners
• coordinate advertising campaigns and awareness raising activities.
• Lead and manage a high performing and cohesive team

Tertiary qualifications in communications, event management, marketing, advertising or public relations.

Experience planning and managing advertising campaigns.

Eligibility

An Organisational Assessment is a mandatory requirement for work in ASD.

Organisational assessments are conducted to determine suitability to work in a high security environment and/or to hold a Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance. You must obtain and maintain a PV security clearance to work in ASD.
The assessment is administered in a manner which ensures informed consent, fair dealing with all applicants and employees, and the greatest possible degree of privacy and transparency of process. Before you submit an application you should consider your own preparedness for questions that may include the following topics: personal relationships, living circumstances, personal values, financial situation, physical and mental health history including substance use, and any civil and/or military record.

If you are found to be a suitable candidate and have a current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) this will be taken into consideration whilst undertaking a Positive Vetting upgrade.
