Location: Within schools, CBD and WFH Commencement Date: January 2025 Closing Date: Tuesday, 26 November 2024 Capacity: Full-time, 6-month contract About the Role Reporting to the Supervisor: Student Wellbeing, the Education Officer: Student Wellbeing is responsible for providing specialist advice, assistance and case management support to schools within the Archdiocese of Sydney and internal Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) directorates in supporting the wellbeing of SCS students.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: exercising leadership through support, advice and professional development for members of school leadership teams and teachers using a coaching/mentoring model supporting school staff in understanding and implementing relevant SCS Student Wellbeing policies and practices collaborating with school staff in monitoring and reviewing the ongoing effectiveness of the structures and plans implemented to achieve positive student wellbeing outcomes collaborating with schools and internal SCS teams to support school implementation of the requirements of relevant legislation providing case management support to schools for students demonstrating behavioural, mental health and other wellbeing issues assisting school-based case management teams with the coordination of appropriate interventions with all stakeholders, including the broader school community and external agencies assisting schools in developing required documentation and communication relevant to the process of keeping all students safe organising assessments, interventions and ongoing review meetings with stakeholders promoting open communication and consultation between families, SCS and external stakeholders in support of student wellbeing within the school-based case management model any other duties as directed from time to time.
About You We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and professional candidate with the following experience, skills and knowledge: a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Education or Teaching demonstrated minimum 5-years experience in any of the above disciplines strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain trust with all stakeholders highly organised with the ability to self-manage workload and priorities experience in, and demonstrated ability, leading staff in professional learning the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team current driver's licence and access to a car willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.
Desirable: a Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy, Education or another discipline experience working in a school a broad understanding of the national and international implementation of PBL.
