Drill & Blast Engineers Calidus Resources Limited are a gold exploration and development company who operates the Warrawoona Gold Project located near Marble Bar in the East Pilbara district of Western Australia.

After a short operational pause, exciting changes are underway as we embrace new management and look to ramp our Warrawoona project back up to full production by February 2025.

With a bright future ahead, the Warrawoona Gold Project is expected to have a mine life of initially 5 – 7 years with significant potential to further resources within the region. About the Role This is a rare opportunity to work with a small team and be involved in an exciting green field gold project with a wide degree of responsibilities.

Based on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and reporting to the Mining Manager, the Drill & Blast Engineer will be responsible for providing technical advice, planning and developing blast designs for our Warrawoona Gold Project.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement blast proposals aligned to achieving the mine plan. Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards during blasting operations Develop drill and blast budgets with the Mining manager and track cost performance with a view to optimise costs Analize blast, performance fragmentation distribution and blast- induced ground movement Direct mining contractor in relationship to Drill and blast activities Work with Explosives provider and mining contractor to continuously optimise Drill and Blast performance Scheduling drill and blast activities to maintain production targets utilising Surpac or other software as may be required Provide daily drilling and blasting proposals. Lead or assist in incident investigations and root-cause analysis for any drill/blast related incidents Liaising with Senior Engineers on site and providing assistance for mine engineering activities. Develop a weekly and monthly mine plan for drill and blast. Manage the supply of drilling and blasting consumables, products and services. Communicate with regulatory bodies and provide necessary documentation for blasting approvals About the Person To be considered for this role, you will require: 3-5 years operational experience – Open Pit gold mining is preferred. High level mining software skills (Deswick / Surpac) Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement Shortlisting for this role will commence immediately.
