District Prosecution Manager - People Leader role

This is primarily a leadership role and while previous PPS experience would be beneficial, it is not essential.
New Zealand Police are offering a rare and exciting opportunity for both constabulary and police employee staff to join the Police Prosecution Service (PPS) as a District Prosecution Manager (DPM), in Hamilton.
As a DPM you will lead a diverse group of Constabulary Prosecutors, Police Employee lawyers, and support staff. You will be responsible for the daily administrative and management requirements of your team; but more than this you will have the opportunity to lead our people and 'our business'. You will deliver national strategy through operationalizing tactics, deploy resources, manage risk, and be accountable for your team's performance.
You will interact with internal Police employees at multiple levels - from members of the senior leadership team, such as District and Area Commanders, through to operational investigators and support staff. You will also form part of a wider management team within the PPS linking your team to Prevention, Response, and Investigative staff within the District, and to PPS National Office.
As a DPM you will interact with justice sector stakeholders and represent the Police position on matters under discussion. The ability to communicate with tact, knowledge, and authority, and to present a logical and evidence-based perspective is critical.

Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only). For both Constabulary & Police Employees: Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or Have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for. All Police employee applicants (i.e. those who do not hold the Office of Constable) must have a Law degree and hold a current Practicing Certificate. Successful candidate must reside within Hamilton. Successful applicant is required to undergo Police Vetting, Professional Conduct clearance, and Reference Checks. This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level , this means your key purpose is "to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them."

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $111,465.00 - $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
