Located in Wollongong, you will be part of a 24/7 care team supporting a male with a spinal cord injury.
You will provide full assistance with personal cares, medication administration, meal preparation and feeding assistance, completion of transfers including bed to commode and commode to wheelchair, with the use of a ceiling hoist and lifter, and many other duties.
An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.
Your key responsibilities Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker, who can undertake the following key responsibilities:
Personal caresPressure area care and skin integrity supportMedication administrationEpilepsy and seizure managementBowel care & incontinence supportEnteral feeding (PEG)Meal preparation and feeding assistanceDysphagia and aspiration management at mealtimesCompletion of transfers including bed to commode and commode to wheelchair, with the use of a hoistManual handling including repositioning, pushing/pulling wheelchair, and commode within the client homePhysiotherapy exercise supportGeneral household tasksOrganisation of stock and orderingAbout you. To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
Certificate III in Individual Support or above (relevant care certificates may also be considered)Specific disability/complex care experience (minimum 2 years experience)Manual handling certificate and experience (essential)Current first aid and CPRYellow Card/NDIS Worker's Screening CheckNDIS Orientation ModuleEnglish fluency - verbal and writtenStart your application.
