Role We are looking for experienced Male Disability Support Workers to join our team with a caring nature, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Your role will involve supporting our male participant in the home and in the community. We endeavour to provide a home that provides professional, high quality service and supports our participant's individual growth.
Responsibilities Assistance with daily living tasks such as prompting personal care, preparation of meals, prompting medications and other general household tasks. Organizing participant's health appointments e.g. scheduling in GP appointments, ensuring scripts are up-to-date, and ordering and picking up their medications. Respond to the participant's needs and assist with their daily activities and routines. Documenting end of shift progress notes and drafting reports for stakeholders. Promote independence, give choice, encourage inclusiveness and respect the rights and privacy of an individual with a disability through planning and creating opportunities. Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct. Work within a team to ensure quality and continuity of care. Provide Community Participation to participants by providing transport, assisting them on social outings/public transport, shopping, budgeting etc. Be proactive to continually educate yourself on the specific needs of participants and conditions. Ability to engage participant in a range of hobbies and interests and build rapport. Essential Criteria Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care Qualification and industry experience in a group home. Current Driver's License and own insured motor vehicle. ABN (Australian Business Number). Current First Aid and CPR certificate. NDIS Worker Clearance Check. NDIS Worker orientation module. Be comfortable supporting adult clients with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. To apply for this position, please send through your resume and cover letter. Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
