Director Strategic Capability The purpose of this role is to support the Commission's investigative principal functions through the provision of key capabilities and services including oversight of the strategic intelligence and research function, oversight of criminal brief preparation, standardisation of operational procedures, investigative policy and procedure development, education and training, and external liaison.
This is a temporary 12-month, full-time position. Current Government employees interested in a secondment opportunity are encouraged to apply.
The total remuneration package for this Senior Executive Band 1 position is up to $227,389 (including superannuation).
Candidates will be assessed against the following requirements: Extensive investigation experience including knowledge of the application of strategic intelligence and the deployment of human sources in investigations. Extensive experience in the leadership of intelligence and/or investigation teams. Well-developed planning, problem solving, analytical and project management skills with a record of successful project outcomes, including process improvement and capability development projects. Comprehensive knowledge of law enforcement and administrative investigation processes and methodologies, a good understanding of the criminal law, the rules of evidence and criminal procedures, the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988, the machinery of government and public sector organisational systems. Superior interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, demonstrated in a variety of contexts such as internal leadership, multi-disciplinary teams, and industry relationships. Extensive experience in the preparation of complex criminal briefs of evidence. Demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, occupations, and seniority, both internal and external to the Commission. Appropriate and relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications. Employment is contingent upon the successful candidate having the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance at Negative Vetting 1.
