About the Aged Care Quality and Safety CommissionThe Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. The role of the Commission is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care.The Commission is the national end-to-end regulator of aged care services and the primary point of contact for consumers and providers in relation to quality and safety. Our vision is to support a world-class aged care system driven by empowered consumers who enjoy the best possible quality of life.The Case Management team is responsible for managing complex employee-related issues within the Commission relating to behaviour, performance and health & safety. The team manages risks associated with injured or ill staff, performance issues, workplace grievances, and misconduct through investigations.About the RoleThe Director, Case Management will establish and lead a new team that manages employee cases relating to behaviour, performance, and health & safety within the Commission. This includes establishing technology, policies, and processes to support effective case management and stakeholder engagement, and supporting existing team members to build their skills and deliver consistent service. The role also involves overseeing the management of complex cases, including compensation and investigations, as well as providing guidance to team members where necessary.Position DutiesEstablish a new Case Management team and uplift the Commission's case management approach.Solve complex employee-related cases, taking a risk-based approach and considering all relevant stakeholders, whilst considering reputational, regulatory, and legal consequences.Oversee and guide internal and external investigations, including reviewing the holistic employee complaint portfolio and reporting on trends, behaviours of concern, and risk.Manage complex workplace grievances or complaints by undertaking high quality, timely, and independent investigations into employee misconduct & behaviour.Oversee and guide the delivery of end-to-end health/rehabilitation case management activities for injured or ill employees.Manage and mentor a team of rehabilitation case managers, performance case managers, and investigators to achieve positive outcomes.Contribute to the provision of advice to Commission leadership on employee-related issues.Regularly review the quality standards and effectiveness of case management processes and resources.Sustain effective positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.Contribute to the leadership, strategic planning, and performance reporting of the P&C function.Leadership and AccountabilityManage case management operations including budgets, contracts, procurement, and human resources.Lead case management staff to achieve individual and team performance objectives.Identify and manage workforce risks.Actively contribute to relevant governance committees and/or working groups.Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)Highly developed leadership and change management skills.Ability to foster a positive and supportive team culture.Extensive knowledge and application of statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks.Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic direction.Demonstrated high standard of verbal and written communication.Please note - initially this vacancy will be filled as non-ongoing.Position NotesSalary offered will be between $136,307 - $161,381 per annum.Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply.Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term.Merit Pool established through this selection process may be used to fill this or future vacancies.In your application, please provide a statement of claims against the position eligibility requirements in no more than 600 words, including what strengths you would bring to the role, and a copy of your CV.Please complete the application and submit by
