Director of Financial Management Business ImprovementsReporting to the Finance Branch Assistant Secretary, the Director of Financial Management Business Improvements is responsible for the delivery of process improvement across various aspects of the Finance function. The Director will also assist in developing a strategic approach to improvements and develop repeatable methodologies for delivering client centric and systematic approaches to deliver for the Department. The Director will show flexibility in the role, working to deliver priorities and responding to the needs of the Branch and the department more broadly.
The key duties of the position include:Provide leadership, mentoring, strategic direction and support change projects through effective change management and cross Branch and Divisional engagement.Provide strategic advice, strategies and implement improvement processes to ensure the Department is structuring financial practices to align with business objectives, remain compliant with its PGPA Act obligations and striving for best practice.Ensure business improvements are delivered in an inclusive, consultative manner, supported by strong change management.Focus on the provision of solutions that allow business users to self-service through streamlined systems, training, education, guides and templates.Participation in selected external forums and consultative groups. Provide leadership, mentoring and strategic direction to the team and support expected structural changes during the cycle, through effective change management.Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
