Director, Management Accounting

Salary: PSCSAA 2022, Level 8, $144,597 to $156,598

We are seeking an experienced Director of Management Accounting to join our dynamic team.

The Director Management Accounting is responsible for leading and overseeing the Management Accounting team that partners with business units to coordinate financial processes and reporting, provide financial advisory services and timely financial information to inform decision making in line with business strategy and planning. The Director also leads the Government budget process to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the budgeted outcomes and to achieve long term financial sustainability.

This is a permanent full-time position.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:

A tertiary degree in finance, commerce, business or an approved equivalent.

Current membership of CPA Australia as a Chartered Practicing Accountant (CPA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia as a Chartered Accountant (CA), or the Institute of Public Accountants as a Member, or an overseas accounting body that is recognised by at least two of the above-mentioned bodies as having requirements for membership equivalent to those of the approving body.

Extensive experience leading and managing contemporary financial management services in a complex organisation.

Demonstrated conceptual skills with the ability to solve complex problems, and to develop and implement effective solutions, policies and procedures that support strategic and operational priorities.

Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends and developments in public sector financial and budget management practices and of financial legislation impacting State Public Sector agencies.

Highly developed communication skills including the ability to tailor the message to the target audience group.
