Details of the offer

As a Director, you will exercise a significant degree of independence and perform an important leadership role.
Employees at this level will be responsible for influencing and developing strategy, policies, priorities and operational practices in support of the development and implementation of DFAT's foreign, trade and development policy and its global corporate management functions.

Directors provide advice to senior management, Ministers, and other key stakeholders, and have responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic, political and/or operational significance.
Directors also lead teams and manage corporate functions, including budgets.
Legal roles may see you negotiate, advise, and litigate on a diverse range of high profile international, trade, investment, regulatory and domestic law issues.

Minimum Requirements Director roles will require you to have a law degree (or equivalent) from a recognised Australian tertiary education provider, or a degree from an overseas tertiary education provider recognised for admission to practice in Australia.

Entry in the Register of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia or the roll of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of a State or Territory would be desirable.
