You're a leader who supports psychosocial safety, takes ownership, can effectively plan and deliver, and actively creates positive change. You will be excited by the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of our Health Safety Management System to support the continuous improvement in health and safety outcomes. In this role you'll Join the recently enhanced Health and Safety team of our Technical Services Division that is driving an accelerated program for Health and Safety improvement with a whole of Enterprise lens, and re-prioritising the Health and Safety function as well as the expectations of Sydney Metro and its 'officers'.
Reporting to the Executive Director Health and Safety, supported by a high performing Team, you will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of management systems, capability programs, and campaigns that support the Health and Safety business partnering function within Sydney Metro.
You will lead a whole-of-enterprise team responsible for establishing and maintaining standard ways of working that drive compliance and align to good practice across the Sydney Metro agency, Projects, and Operations.
You will be the custodian of, and driving force behind, Sydney Metro's Health and Safety Management System, ensuring it continues to support Sydney Metro's accreditation as a Rail Transport Operator.
The role provides governance to ensure the robust execution of health and safety responsibilities and drives the reporting and insights that support timely and informed decision making.
The role collaborates with Sydney Metro leadership teams, TfNSW stakeholders, delivery and operations partners, other agencies, and regulators to support the continuous improvement in health and safety outcomes.
This is a fixed term opportunity for up to 3 years, Transport Senior Service Manager TSSE1A level role offering an attractive remuneration package. About you You are a strategic people leader with strong interpersonal skills, a high-level of diplomacy and the ability to take the team on the journey.
You have demonstrated extensive experience of health and safety management at a senior level supported by extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice.
Highly regarded will be previous experience in having developed and implemented Health Safety Management System (HSMS) in large complex matrix-based organisation, as well as prior exposure to the Rail or Transport industries.
You will need to meet the Rail Safety Worker requirements, including medical and competency requirements.
Collaboration is key, you have experience dealing with critical senior stakeholders.
You excel in your communication skills and have proven experience influencing senior leaders and operating in a complex customer centric and fast-paced environment.
With a good level of gravitas, you know how to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively with senior executives to drive outcomes.
