Direct Care Workers - Community Age Care In Home Care: Our clients are based in St Kilda, Prahran, South Yarra, Elsternwick, Windsor, Caulfield, Carnegie, Bentleigh, & Surrounding Suburbs. You will need your own transport and driver's licence.
Your availability to work 20hrs per week between Monday-Sunday will be highly regarded.
About the Role: Provide personal care to our clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life. Provide assistance with a range of personal care including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments. Support clients to maintain and develop independent living skills and routines in accordance to their Individual Care Plan. Monitor the physical, social and emotional well-being of the client and report issues. Be responsible for taking immediate action in an emergency to ensure the safety of elders, staff, and others in the community. Resolve minor problems/enquiries/requests and refer issues to the BlueStar team leaders when required. Develop an effective, positive and respectful working relationship with our elders, respecting cultural values and beliefs. What you will bring to the role: Certificate III in Individual Support (Essential). Current driver's license and reliable vehicle (Highly Desirable). Mobile phone to receive your shifts and fortnightly roster. Covid-19 Vaccination certificate or medical exemption. Reliable to work a minimum of 3 days per week or 20hrs (Monday to Sunday). Warm and friendly personality, passionate about caring for our elderly clients. Ability to speak Russian, Polish, Hebrew, Yiddish would be highly desirable but not essential.
