About the role
The Developer at HIF holds a critical role in developing and maintaining high quality programming solutions that contribute to HIF's Member experience and internal business initiatives.
Using a modern, Microsoft tech stack the developer integrates, maintains, secures and constantly improves critical applications to further HIF's strategic objectives.

We are looking for someone who also has solid, full-stack experience when it comes to writing and maintaining .NET applications, wants exposure to a wide range of technology, likes working in a small team and enjoys taking the lead in solving problems.

Some of skills and experience you will have include:
Essential
Strong skills and experience with Microsoft server-side web development technologies including: C#, .NET 6+, ASP.Net MVC, IIS.
Experience in building, integrating, securing and managing RESTful APIs and sound working knowledge of associated tools e.g.
Postman.
Proficiency in SQL Server with expertise in writing queries, stored procedures, database design and EF Core integration.
Expert proficiency in version control management, including branching, tagging and release strategies using Git.
Knowledge of application security best practices (OWASP), dependency management and vulnerability mitigation.
Ability to work independently to triage problems, investigate issues, research solutions and provide justified recommendations.
Sound skills in task estimation, time management and support ticket resolution.
Desirable
Tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline.
Azure DEVOPS experience.
Experience integrating with Identity and Access Management (IDAM) solutions e.g.
Okta, Cognito.
Cloud development experience or certification e.g.
AWS, Azure.
Experience on Agile projects and working knowledge of Atlassian software (e.g.
Jira, Confluence).
Development experience with Microsoft SQL services (SSIS and SSRS).
UI/UX development experience and familiarity with front-end web frameworks and libraries such as Webpack, TypeScript and jQuery.
Experience in a regulated industry or a previous position within a member/customer service focused business.
