The Opportunity   As we expand our team, we're seeking a talented Design Draftsperson to contribute their skills and creativity to our exciting projects.  This role is to design and prepare engineering drawings for the Rail & Technology Systems division and its projects. The roles line manager is the RSR Design Manager and will receive drafting direction from the Drafting Team leader, with technical input from the senior drafters and the discipline engineers. The role will be multi-disciplined with concept and detailed drawing development expected across a range of disciplines including infrastructure E&I, Comms and general Civil. Key responsibilities include: Prepare engineering design drawings as directed including 2D & 3D models, schematics, SLDs, site plans, survey layout,      sections and elevations, cable routes, photomontages etc. Apply established engineering principles and standards in the design and preparation of drawings. Ensure drawings are comprehensively set out and fully dimensioned, utilizing AS1100 and other applicable standards, to facilitate effective construction or manufacture. Prepare drawings and models to budgeted hours and timeframes as directed. Ensure engineering documentation is effectively identified and filed and check the drawings prepared by the other draftspersons as and when directed. Prepare material take offs from drawings as required to assist business development and construction staff. Ensure compliance with all record keeping and training requirements. Undertake any ad hoc project work, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Design Manager.   Requirements to be successful: At least 5 years experience in detail drafting with AutoCAD in the relevant discipline for Building or Transport infrastructure projects (Electrical, Communications, Civil and Structural) Good knowledge of blocks, attributes, paper/model space, xRef's, fonts, plot styles and UCS System set-up. Some experience in drafting with Autodesk Revit architectural design software is advantageous. Some experience in drafting with 12D Solutions and/or other civil design software is advantageous. Familiarity with various Australian standards including AS1100 Technical Drawing (set). Familiarity with Surveying geospatial systems including transfer of information from varying datums (PCG2020, Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
