Position Information Bulli High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in the Northern Illawarra, situated on Dharawal Country between the escarpment and the ocean, adjacent to Bulli Beach. Our geographical location provides unique learning opportunities for our students who have a deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land they live and learn on. Our current enrolment is 1,065 students. Forty-five students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 115 students have a language background other than English. The school features a Support Unit which has four classes for students on the Autism spectrum.
Bulli High School has a proud tradition of academic, creative, sporting and leadership excellence. Students study subjects from a broad curriculum which includes enrichment classes in STEAM, extension opportunities and vocational courses. Our students are able to access extracurricular activities which support a holistic approach to learning as they are encouraged to reach their full potential and become community minded citizens, in a spirit of respect, responsibility, and integrity. The school has strong established relationships with our nine primary feeder schools in the Seacliff Community of Schools, spanning a distance of 25 km north of the school along the coastline, supporting student learning from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school values parent support, working in collaboration to provide the best learning environment and opportunities for students both within and beyond the classroom.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria:
Proactive, visible leadership with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of the school's executive team to enhance student outcomes with an emphasis on high expectations for all students. Demonstrated capacity to strengthen partnerships with parents, students and community in strategies that facilitate growth in student engagement, wellbeing and pathways. Proven ability to build the capacity of executive and staff teams, positively impacting the professional growth and wellbeing of staff. Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and lead initiatives, apply evidence-informed practice, and monitor the implementation of the school's strategic directions. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
