We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Chief Finance Officer and Executive Director to lead financial strategy, budgeting, and policy management.
This leadership role will involve overseeing a high-performing, capable team and focusing on finance transformation and innovation.

About The Role
As one of two Deputy Chief Finance Officers reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will focus on providing government budget and school funding management, financial strategy, policy, and advisory services. This will involve building strong relationships both internally and externally and representing the Department of Education in whole of government forums. As an experienced and transformational leader, you will also be responsible for managing a highly competent and capable team of senior finance professionals who are in turn responsible for approximately 60 staff members. With an eye to transformation and future innovation, you will also be involved in monitoring and managing changes in response to reviews of the Australian education system.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be an experienced senior finance professional who may currently be working as the Chief Finance Officer of a smaller organisation or as the Deputy Chief Finance Officer of a larger organisation, department or agency. You will also ideally demonstrate a background in strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, and have the ability to lead and motivate confident, capable teams who aren't afraid to innovate and change.
