About Your Role:As the Depot Maintenance Manager, you will lead and oversee our Service Delivery Managers and ensure efficient, safe, and effective maintenance activities on the Regional Rail Trains, located at our Mindyarra Maintenance Facility, Dubbo NSW.
This is a permanent full-time role.
This role requires a results-driven leader who can balance multiple priorities, achieve key project goals, and enhance customer satisfaction, all while fostering an environment that values team collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and support Service Delivery Managers to achieve maintenance targets in line with safety, quality, and operational standards.Oversee maintenance operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and project-specific requirements.Maintain focus on timely, cost-effective solutions to meet project objectives, including reliability, availability, budget, and customer satisfaction.Drive initiatives that support diversity and create a supportive, inclusive environment within the depot and maintenance teams.Coordinate resources and promote best practices to ensure optimal team performance.About You:You bring a strong background in maintenance management within rail, transport, or a similar industry and have a natural leadership style that is inclusive, approachable, and results-focused.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Tertiary Qualification: A qualification in Management or Engineering, or equivalent experience in a leadership role within an Asset Management environment, or a related field.Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management: Demonstrated experience in managing safety, quality, and environmental compliance in line with relevant legislation and contract requirements.Operational Experience: Experience in a production or maintenance operations environment, with a solid understanding of effective operational practices.Business Improvement Techniques: Familiarity with business improvement methodologies such as Lean and 5S to enhance process efficiency.Leadership Experience: Over 10 years of relevant management and supervisory experience, including managing teams to meet set delivery targets.Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring completion within scope, time, and budget constraints.Financial Acumen: Sound understanding of budget management, cost control, and performance measurement, with a focus on achieving operational efficiency.Team Working Concepts: Experience in implementing and practicing modern team working approaches in open operating environments.Quality Control Systems: Proficient in the use of quality control systems to ensure adherence to operational standards.Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with effective negotiation and influencing skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Why Choose UGL?
