Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Oral Health Therapist to join our dental team. The Oral Health Therapist will play a crucial role in providing preventive and therapeutic oral care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to promoting oral health, educating patients on effective oral hygiene practices, and delivering high-quality dental care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Perform dental assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with dentists.
Provide professional oral health care including scaling, polishing, fluoride applications, and sealants.
Administer local anesthesia and perform minor dental procedures as required.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, dietary recommendations, and preventive care.
Develop personalized oral health education materials and programs for patients.
Clinical Duties:
Take and interpret radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and treatment documentation.
Assist in the management of dental emergencies and provide appropriate care.
Administrative Tasks:
Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and ensure a clean and safe clinical environment.
Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in oral health therapy and dental technology.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree or diploma in Oral Health Therapy from an accredited institution.
Licensing: Valid dental therapist license or registration as required by local regulatory bodies.
Experience: Previous experience as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, oral health promotion, and patient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
Proficiency in using dental software and radiographic equipment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
