Ballarat Family Dental is excited to announce that we are looking for a self-starting dental assistant to join our growing team!
Our practice recognises the importance of supporting our new team members so that they can integrate into our practice confidently and comfortably.
When you join our team as an experienced, qualified dental assistant, you will be provided with: 2 week induction program to familiarise yourself with our processes and workflowSupport to brush you up on procedures you may not be familiar with that we perform at our practiceA comprehensive training of our treatment philosophies and what we do to ensure our patients are best looked after so that you can confidently assist our practitioners.If you have no prior industry experience, we can provide you with a solid 6 week training program to fast track you into our industry so that you can work independently quicker than if you were to work at any other practices in Ballarat (you will be amazed by what can be achieved in 6 weeks!).
You are the right person for our team if you are passionate about working in the healthcare or dental industry, you like to learn and also share your industry knowledge with others, you are a dependable team player who pays attention to the details and you love working in a team that drives results for patients. You:
Hold a track record of infection control commitmentAre a reliable self-starterCan efficiently stay organised and time manageAre able to follow our systems and protocols closelyHave received compliments in the past from patients about how you have helped them chairsideAre humble and have a growth mindsetIf you are not familiar with things such as 4-handed dentistry, note taking, using a thermal disinfector, assisting for orthodontics or surgical procedures, etc- we can teach you all of that.
We moved into our modern premises a few years ago with the capacity for up to 10 dental chairs which includes a GA facility where patients can have sleep dentistry onsite. We are looking for someone who loves the dental industry to join our team asap!
The successful candidate must have a good sense of humour, a thick skin and isn't afraid of hard work. There are many opportunities for career progression within our growing practice if you have the right attributes. A certificate III in dental assisting is desirable but all candidates will be considered.
If you do not have any experience in the dental industry and are looking to enter the profession, we will also consider your application for a traineeship position as we have a robust 6 week in-house training program. You will then go on to complete a certificate III in dental assisting through Kangan Institute of TAFE, Bendigo (online learning).
Ballarat Family Dental was established in 2015 by a husband and wife team as a start-up. When we outgrew our 3-chair practice, we built a new 10-chair premises and moved into it in late 2022. We are reputable for our friendly, caring dentistry where we work with many children, their families and anxious patients who are keen to be converted into dentist-loving patients. Our onsite GA facility is aimed to help our patients have more options to complete their dental work, stress-free. Our supportive dental team loves to learn together. We are passionate about providing quality dentistry and services to all of our patients and do so by constantly working on ourselves, embracing training and providing two-way constructive feedback to help take our people and company to higher heights.
Our approach to how we practice and educate our patients is uniquely different from your run-of-the-mill dental practice and we take pride in our approach where education plays a huge part of what we do every day. Our goal for all of our patients is to fully understand their own oral health status and regain control of their oral health.
Within our fun and professional team environment, you will be making a difference every day. You will be supporting a team of professionals including: dentist, hygienist, oral health therapist, anaesthetist and registered nurse. We have close relationships with the lab technicians, dental sales representatives and specialists we connect with.
This role clocks full time hours working 4 weekday days a week from 7:40am-6:00pm Monday-Friday. Saturdays are on rotation one day a month from 8:00am-3:00pm. The set RDO will be discussed with the right candidate. Check us out at ballaratfamilydental.com.au
