This team does a mixture of support of the Data Platforms, infrastructure maintenance, and delivery of enhancements and bug fixes for data products. The Data Reliability Engineer monitors the Data Platforms and performs troubleshooting and fixes to solve incidents as well as implementing system and service improvements.Some of the things you'll do are:Service Management of Data PlatformsMonitoring the support queue and triaging and handling incidents which are loggedMonitoring and actioning service requestsPerforming root cause analysis as part of Problem InvestigationRaise Change Requests and perform change activities as requiredProactively monitor the health of the data platforms and data pipelines and take preventative action as neededMonitor and analyse performance metrics and identify and implement improvementsMonitor Platform KPI Metrics and identify improvementsRelease Management of deployments to the Production environmentPerform basic infrastructure tasks which support the Data PlatformsData Engineering activities for small projects which improve platform stability and enhance service deliveryWork closely with the Data Platform and Data Delivery teams to ensure optimal operation of the Production environments, minimise downtime from issues, and manage required maintenance activitiesWe're looking for people who have:Proven Data Engineering experience in a modern cloud data platformGood understanding of cloud data platforms ideally in the Azure / Microsoft stackGood understanding of data and analytics conceptsStrong interpersonal skills, internal stakeholder management skills with high quality written and verbal communicationAble to work through competing priorities and managing project delivery scopeStrong organisational and self-management skills including the ability to quickly adjust work cycles to accommodate emerging prioritiesStakeholder relationship development experience, with an ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.Inclusion at AGLAt AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
