Location: Woolloongabba, Queensland Type: Contract Job #17077 Overview Our Brisbane based commercial client is seeking an experienced Data Migration Engineer to support a large-scale digital refresh project focused on cleaning up systems and data.
In this role, you will play a critical part in managing data migration and archiving processes while ensuring compliance with data retention policies.
The role is a 6-month initial contract with a high likelihood of extensions, offering a hybrid work arrangement-3 days in-office, 2 days from home.
Responsibilities Lead and execute data migration processes to ensure accurate and secure movement of data between systems.
Manage and implement data archiving strategies, ensuring historical data is properly stored and accessible.
Ensure compliance with data retention policies throughout the migration and archiving processes.
Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with project goals.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during data migrations and archiving activities.
Document procedures and create reports on migration progress and challenges.
Skills Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with large datasets, ETL processes, and system integration.
Proven experience in data migration projects, with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Strong knowledge of data archiving methodologies and best practices.
Solid understanding of data retention policies and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and data pipelines.
Experience with data transformation, cleaning, and quality assurance techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
