About the Role: As a Platform Engineer within our Data Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud-based applications and solutions. You will leverage automation to ensure our environments are standardized, repeatable, and agile, and you'll play a key role in our DevOps and CI/CD processes. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Create cloud-based solutions on Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI, focusing on scalability, performance, and security. Automation and Orchestration: Utilize tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and PowerShell to automate infrastructure and application deployments. Debugging and Deployment: Deploy and troubleshoot cloud initiatives throughout the development lifecycle, adhering to best practices. Quality Assurance: Review peer-developed modules and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in deployment processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing downtime. What You'll Bring: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cloud technologies, specifically with Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI. Technical Skills: Strong experience with coding languages (Python, SQL, PowerShell, Bash) and cloud administration (Databricks, ADF). Automation Expertise: Demonstrated experience in application and infrastructure automation/orchestration. Cloud Security: Solid understanding of cloud security principles and practices. DevOps Proficiency: Familiarity with CI/CD processes and best practices, contributing to a robust DevOps culture. Networking Knowledge: Understanding of cloud infrastructure networking concepts, with hands-on experience in implementation and support. Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in IT or related disciplines are preferred. Certifications in Azure Engineering and Snowflake are highly desirable.
