Mayfield, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development) Justiz Community is an Aboriginal-owned and operated leading provider of disability services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities servicing the Lower Hunter and Maclean Valley regions. As a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, we are committed to enhancing the lives of those we serve and dedicated to providing support and services to individuals with physical and psychosocial disabilities. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Coordinator of Support who is responsible for ensuring capacity-building support for participants as per their individual plan, including informal, mainstream, community, and funded supports. The role focuses on addressing barriers and reducing complexities in a supportive environment using a strengths-based approach to assist in achieving participants' goals.This position is offered in our Newcastle office on a permanent full-time basis. The role will be well suited an individual that has strong relationship building skills, understands the needs for compliance and is meticulous in ensuring documentation is current and reflective of participant goals. The OpportunityThis is a pivotal role that will see you working with participants on addressing barriers and reduce complexities in a supportiveenvironment using a strengths-based approach to assist in the achievement of our participants' goals.Key responsibilities span financial, compliance, adherence to policy and legislation and include but are not limited to the following – Working with participants to understand Plan funding and its purposeAssessing participants' confidence and skills, and supporting them to identify their needs from servicesDeveloping and designing support solutions to meet participant goals and outcomesLinking participants to broader systems of supportsProviding guidance and support to participants to overcome challenges and realise aspirations embedded within their NDIS PlansEngaging with participants' allied health providers, informal and formal supportsFacilitating meetings, planning, and reviewsEngaging with LAC and NDIA staffAssessing and managing risk in line with organisational policies and proceduresRequirements With no two days the same, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with a second to none attention to detail. They will have a commitment to continuously improve the lives of participants through community collaboration, flexibility and teamwork. Ideally, you will have – An allied health tertiary qualifications, or certificate or diploma qualifications related to the sector Understanding of Reportable incidents and Restrictive practices (PRODA)Knowledge and understanding of the essential principles of the Disability Services Act 2006, NDIS, the principles and function of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and associated accredited standardsConfident and professional communication skills with excellent collaboration skills and an ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholdersExcellent attention to detail combined with organisational and time management skillsMotivational drive to grow and develop your career within the businessAdvanced computer skills and experience with the MS Office SuiteIf you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role with an organisation that is dedicated to innovation and excellence, we encourage you to apply with your CV and cover letter telling us about your suitability for this role.A salary package will be offered based on experience. As a not-for-profit, Justiz Community has the additional employee benefit of salary sacrificing arrangements.
