The opportunity
IFYS is seeking a Coordinator to lead the Old Church Youth Emergency Accommodation Program, based in Nambour.
This established program follows the Youth Foyer model, providing safe accommodation and tailored support services to young people on the Sunshine Coast who are experiencing homelessness.
The Youth Foyer approach focuses on supporting young people in their transition to independent living, with an emphasis on education, employment, and life skills development.
Reporting to the Manager - Accommodation Services, the Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Old Church facility, providing leadership and support to a team of Youth Workers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centred services.

Key responsibilities
Provide supervision, mentoring, support and consultation to staff, students and volunteers
Promote teamwork, respect and a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and services, across a variety of sectors
Maintain record keeping, financial, human resources and reporting requirements
Oversee the Property Management of the Transitional Housing Properties
Work within and promote a culturally safe, trauma informed, therapeutic environment for both staff and clients
Skills and requirements
Experience in a Coordinator role within homelessness, transitional housing, or similar services
Ability to provide supervision, mentorship, and support to staff and students
Commitment to working in a client-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed framework
Exceptional relationship-building skills with clients, staff, and external stakeholders
Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities
A high level of computer and systems literacy
Tertiary qualification in a related field (desirable)
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful
Valid driver's license with no restrictions, and own reliable transport
QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
Licensed Care Service Suitability Check (LCS2)
National Criminal History Check (a new check will be conducted through IFYS systems)
