A merit list or pool may be used for up to 18 months.This merit list or pool may be used to fill other vacancies in Canberra, Melbourne.For more information about Merit Lists or Merit Pools please go to APSC's website - The APS Merit Principle.The RoleCapability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Commercial Division is seeking talented and experienced commercial, procurement, and contracting leaders who are passionate about all things procurement and contracting.As an EL 2 Contracting Director within the Commercial Division, you will be leading, developing, and managing a team of procurement and contracting professionals, and driving innovative commercial outcomes across a wide range of roles, which may include:Working across the Defence enterprise, including closely with Defence capability acquisition and sustainment projects or business areas to provide timely high-quality commercial, contracting, and procurement advice and guidance on complex strategic procurement matters in conjunction with specialist teams.Leading the development and implementation of commercial policy and templates in consultation with various key stakeholders, to ensure compliance with the relevant legal, policy, and legislative requirements.Leading the Division's legislated procurement and contracting reporting obligations, with a focus on Defence's commercial information and reporting systems and data.You will have access to a range of professionalisation opportunities to help enhance your skills, leadership, and expertise.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For further information, please contact the contact officer.About our TeamCommercial Division is responsible for the procurement and contracting function for Defence and provides a wide range of commercial services to Defence and external Government stakeholders.Commercial Division provides commercial support to all Groups and Services across Defence including major delivery organisations (Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group, and Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordinance Group).
