About Your Next Opportunity Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a flexible and friendly full-time Pathology Services Assistant to join the Hervey Bay Laboratory/Maryborough SRA Hub.
We are seeking a staff member with the flexibility to perform various functions in our Hervey Bay Laboratory, which will include rostered shifts in the Maryborough SRA Hub.
In the Hervey Bay Laboratory you will predominantly work 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday.
When rostered in the Maryborough Hub the shift will predominantly be 09:15 to 17:15.
Previous experience in a laboratory, healthcare or medical setting is desirable, but not essential – comprehensive training is provided.
Key responsibilities in this position include; positively matching request forms with specimens; request forms and specimens with the computer data base performing accurate and efficient registration of specimens and requests presenting correctly labelled specimens to relevant departments for processing packing specimens for transport to the Hervey Bay and/or Bowen Hills laboratories communicating ad hoc specimen pick up jobs to couriers responding to phone enquiries and transferring calls to appropriate department, collection centre or laboratory The role requires an enthusiastic attitude and an employment history that shows initiative, attention to detail and a proven ability to work in a busy environment.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a knowledge of medical terminology, previous data entry experience as well as excellent customer service and communication skills.
