Classification: HM33 - HM41 / HN18 – HN59 (Negotiable / depending on FTE)
Salary per hour (exc. super): $129.41 - $177.94 / $162.82 - $215.80
Hours per fortnight: 35-76hrs
Employment Status: On-going – in either Fractional or Staff Specialist capacity
Other requirements: COVID-19 Vaccination (3 doses)

Bendigo Health Medical Services directorate have exciting opportunities in Gastroenterology for commencement in 2025. The department offers flexibility in appointment types, with options for either a Full-Time Staff Specialist position or a Part-Time Fractional role, which can be negotiated. For the right candidate there is opportunity for a Clinical Unit Head appointment (up to 0.1 FTE) for applicants with the relevant skills and experience.

You will be a suitably experienced Gastroenterologist seeking a rewarding career through your contribution to a large and rapidly growing regional tertiary referral hospital with a role in teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars. As a consultant physician you will be expected to practice within your scope of practice and will be subject to Bendigo Health's Credentialing Committee's jurisdiction whist working in Bendigo Health.

The Clinical Unit Head of Gastroenterology is a senior leadership role, reporting through the Clinical Director of Medicine. The responsibility of the role is to provide leadership and management to the Gastroenterology team including; clinical governance, service planning, people management, regional leadership, education and research. The role will also be required provide direct clinical service delivery and continue the development of and lead a highly productive, cohesive multidisciplinary team. This role will work closely with the Clinical Director of Medicine, Director Nursing Medical Services, Medical Workforce Unit and other Clinical Unit Heads.
