Reference No. 100302 George Fisher Mine is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Operator in the Fill & Services Department. This position is residentially based in Mt Isa.
The Role We are looking for an experienced and skilled individual to join us in the role of a Construction Operator within the Fill & Services Department. Reporting to the Fill & Services Supervisor, you will be required to construct bulkheads, install paste fill pipes, secondary ventilation fans, carry out hand-held drilling, and general construction work. Extensive experience in underground services and construction work and paste fill pipe installation is required. Normet, Heavy/Medium Rigid Truck, Dogger & Riggers and Welding Tickets are highly desirable. The roster for this role is on a 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.
In this role you will be responsible for: Installation and ongoing repair and maintenance of underground paste and ventilation systems. Underground construction projects. Engaging with a number of department stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will possess: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a mining/underground operation. Current Australian Drivers Licence. Hard working, reliable and able to work unsupervised. Strong focus on completing the job safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills. Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail. Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
