Are you a qualified and experienced Construction Inspector looking for a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the efficient and effective compliance of Mackay Regional Council conditions and standard? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our dynamic Development Planning and Engineering program.
About this opportunity: The Construction Inspector is responsible to provide monitoring and inspection services to active development sites to ensure compliance with Council's conditions and standards.
Under general direction, the Construction Inspector provides a high-quality customer interface between Council and the construction industry and ensures that donated public infrastructure and parks assets are constructed in accordance with development permits and meet the needs of the community.
This position is responsible for pro-active and practical input into Council's development assessment process on construction related matters and providing mentoring and support for planning and engineering officers on the construction process.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Certificate IV in Civil Construction. QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent. General Construction Induction Training. Experience in the construction and inspection of civil infrastructure works. Thorough knowledge of civil construction technical issues, processes, techniques and best practice for roads, drainage, landscaping, water and sewerage infrastructure. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with consultants, contractors and the public. Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Relevant trade qualification. Landscaping or Horticultural trade qualification. Conduct erosion and sediment control activities competency. Why work for Mackay Regional Council? In addition to the above, we also offer the following benefits: Base annual salary range of $82,690 - $90,623 (Level contingent on your experience and qualifications) Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply). Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading. The position has a 9 day fortnight roster, but MRC are excited to offer a range of flexible working arrangements including 19 day month, compressed work weeks and hybrid working.
