About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conference & Events Duty Manager to join our conference and events team. You will be an integral part of the team to ensure the business operates efficiently, leading a large team of dedicated food and beverage professionals. Full availability to work a weekly rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays is essential in this role.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide effective 'hands on' leadership to a large team promoting our culture & values. Lead by example, perform F&B duties, and assist the team to ensure exceptional service is delivered to guests. Maintain operating procedures and identify improvements to operating efficiencies. Build & maintain effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders. Manage staff performance, agency staff, breaks, and uniform presentation standards. Contribute towards reducing costs, ensuring wastage and breakages are minimised. Manage feedback & resolve difficult situations. Ensure a safe workplace is maintained and promote safe work practices. What You'll Need to be Successful
Previous experience in a team leadership role within a conference & events or 4–5-star hotel/resort environment. Flexibility & full availability to work a rotating roster. RSA Certificate. In-depth knowledge of wines, beverages, and food and beverage service. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, organisational and time management skills. Passion for C&E, service excellence, and knowledge of industry trends. Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Qld WWCC Blue Card. We are Offering
