Computer Network & Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with staff at all levels to resolve escalated issues and meet project deadlines.
Research and monitor servers to ensure optimal network performance within ContentKeeper datacentres.
Conduct quality improvement testing and related activities.
Maintain procedures and document the diagnosis and resolution of network faults, as well as network enhancements and modifications.
Remotely manage servers and workstations, including third-party applications.
Apply specialized skills to troubleshoot network issues.
Manage and maintain passwords for users, servers, and workstations.
Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer new and upgraded network equipment, virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
Analyze client network traffic, capacity, and usage to ensure network integrity and optimal performance.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications BS degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field strongly preferred, or at least four (4) years of significant relevant experience in ICT coordination or a similar role Proven work experience in networking, switching, and routing Proven work experience with cloud technology Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, Oracle) Private Cloud Proven work experience in software development Proven work experience with packets (Network) capture/analyseWireshark Tcpdump Hands-on experience with server (hardware)Setup Configuration Installation Strong knowledge of software methodologies, tools, and processes Experience with virtualization (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, VirtualBox) Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documents Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
