About the role – fixed term contract January 2025 to September 2025The Compliance Manager, in the Country Banking Australia is primarily responsible for assisting with the implementation and enhancement of the risk and compliance management framework within Country Banking Australia (CBAU).
The key objective is to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, Group and Local Policies and standards to drive awareness and accountability in line with three lines of responsibility.
The role facilitates the incorporation of all aspects of the risk and compliance management frameworks into the day-to-day activities of the CBAU Division.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Assisting Country Banking Portfolio Management team to incorporate and implement the requirements of the Risk and Compliance Framework into day-to-day business activities.Compliance advice: research compliance / regulatory obligations; current business processes and controls and provide timely and commercial advice to the business.Support in development, implementation and maintenance of Obligations register, associated risk, and controls.Support the development and maintenance of controls, monitoring and testing process and conduct deep dives and thematic compliance reviews.Coordinate the development and implementation of appropriate 1st line reporting and monitoring of the Risk and Compliance Management Framework.Lead targeted reviews of specific areas in response to Risk and Compliance Management information or requests from various stakeholders.Review and implement changes to compliance process and procedures.Assist in the assessment and management of compliance incidents, breach reporting, regular monitoring, and focused reviews, analysing results, reporting and follow up on remedial action.Regulatory Reporting: assist in completion of key regulatory returns for ASIC and BCCC, whilst maintaining active registers on outstanding actions.Train, develop and mentor Business Unit personnel on the risk and compliance management framework and associated processes.Compliance tool (Archer): administration of systems and analysis tools (Archer).To be successful in this role you will have:Bachelor of Commerce/Economics/Business/Laws or relevant industry qualification, or proven solid banking and finance expertise.Experience in the Banking & Financial Services industry, including at least 3+ years' experience in Legal, Compliance or Operational Risk in organisations of a similar size and complexity.An understanding of banking and finance operations.An understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model.Experience in managing risk, evaluating risk, and reviewing risk.Experience of working in a Risk or Compliance team within a business unit in a role with Compliance responsibilities.What we're proud to offer you:Rabo@Anywhere is our hybrid way of working at Rabobank and for Australia, which means we have a blend of time working between the office and home.Wellbeing leave.
