About the Role
This role is part time, 20 hours per week from April 2019 to August 2020. The position is classified as Level 5 of the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Award.
The Community Development Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering the next phase of the Get Connected Toormina project, implementing new community wellbeing programs and initiatives and developing a community action plan.
Mid Coast Communities is the coordinator of a collaborative community development project called Get Connected Toormina, based around the Toormina Skate Park precinct. Get Connected Toormina is a youth and family focused project that was launched in September 2017 with a community day to celebrate the resurfacing of the Toormina Skate Park.
The focus of the project is on improving outcomes for the community through delivery of a range of activities that focus on the wellbeing of young people and families, as well as improvement of community infrastructure. The project has successfully brought together a wide range of committed stakeholders including Council, community members, community organisations, business, government services and sporting groups.
